Donald began his career in the publishing industry in the early 1980s, working for Macmillan Publishing. He started out as an editorial assistant and worked his way up to become a production editor.  

In 1991, Donald moved to McGraw-Hill Publishing, where he took on the role of Production Supervisor. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing the production/manufacturing for a range of academic and professional titles. He was instrumental in developing and implementing new production/manufacturing strategies that helped to increase speed of bound book to market.

After several years at McGraw-Hill, Donald moved to Random House, where he worked as a Senior Production Manager. During his time at Random House, he was responsible for developing and implementing production/manufacturing campaigns for a range of bestselling fiction and non-fiction titles. He collaborated closely with authors, editors, and sales teams to ensure that each book received the best possible bound book support.

In 1999, Donald joined the Perseus Books Group, where he worked as a Production Manager. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing the production for a range of titles across multiple imprints. He worked closely with authors and editors to develop bound book plans that aligned with the overall branding and messaging of each imprint.

In 2004, Donald joined ABC-CLIO, a leading publisher of academic and reference books, where he worked as a Director of Production. During his time at ABC-CLIO, he was responsible for developing and implementing bound book campaigns for a range of academic titles. He worked closely with authors, editors, and sales teams to ensure that each book received the best possible production/manufacturing support.

In addition to his work in the publishing industry, Donald is also an expert blogger and writer. He has written numerous articles and blog posts on a wide range of publishing topics, including marketing, distribution, and book design.

In 2012, Donald earned a Masters in Publishing Science from Pace University. This degree provided him with a deeper understanding of the publishing industry and helped him to develop new skills and insights that he has been able to apply throughout his career.
